This old toy has action but is not a wind-up or battery toy and it is made of both tin and plastic. The fish or whale body is made of a molded plastic scales and fins. The face of the fish is made of tin and is pinned at the jaw so the mouth can open and close. Inside the large fish is a smaller fish which is made of tin with colorful blue and green lithography. A string is attached to the little fish so he can be pulled out of the big fish but he is still attached to the inside of the large fish by a piece of thin plastic filament. When fully extracted you can get go of the little fish and watch as he gets swallowed by the big fish (you can see this in action on our Facebook page). Both fish are marked Made in Japan and I believe this was from the 1960’s.
The large fish measures about 6” long and the small fry measures about 3 ¼” long. Both are in nice condition with minimal wear and no damage. It is in working condition.
