This is a complete old set called Audels Carpenters and Builders Guide - A Practical Illustrated Trade Assistant on Modern Construction for Carpenters, Joiners, Builders, Mechanics and All Wood Workers. These were written to give technical trade information in concise, accurate, plain language with the additional use of simple diagrams and pictures. All books are hardbound, black cloth covered with yellow/gold lettering and red page edges. The last copyright is 1951 by Theo. Audel & Co. of New York who was also the publisher. Each volume has different information and areas of focus, including but not limited to, this small sample of the topics;
Guide #1 - Wood - Fasteners - Hardware - Hand Tools and their maintenance.
Guide #2 - Mathematics - Surveying - Plans, drawing & reading - Specifications - Estimating
Guide #3 - Foundations - Concrete Forms - Framing including openings and roof - Insulating - Scaffolding.
Guide #4 - Roofing - Doors and Windows - Stairs - Flooring - Painting - assorted Power Tools.
Each book measures about 5” by 6 11/16” with varying thicknesses of ¾” or so. They are in very good condition with minimal wear edge and corner wear. The bindings are tight and the pages are generally clean and crisp with no tears, soiling or markings. Each has a few creased pages or folded corners. The covers show very light corner, edge and scuff wear. The inside page of volume #1 has some crayon work which is shown in the photos.
