This colorful old tin was for Droste's Cocoa which was made in Holland. The scene of a young, Dutch couple enjoying a cup of hot chocolate is on opposing sides of the tin and reads; Droste Haarlem Holland. Another side has what appears to be an elaborate coat of arms and the opposing side appears to have gold medals probably received for the quality of the cocoa the company produced. On two sides it is stamped; Free Sample. The lid is a slip on style. I would guess this empty little tin is from the 1920's or 1930's.
It measures 1 1/8” square and 1 7/8” tall and is in very nice condition with good gloss and minimal wear. There is a little rust to the gold colored band just below the edge of the lid as well as on the top of the lid on the gold trim.
