This old cardboard sign is advertising Arthur Donaldson Cigars from the Makers F.C. Lunquist of Chicago. The sign is flat but appears as a three dimensional open box of cigars. The "lid" of the cigar box features the actor Arthur Donaldson as the Prince of Pilsen the role he originated in 1903. These were apparently Havana cigars by the reference in the poem to the right of the image of Mr. Donaldson. Sitting on the table next to the actor is a box of the cigars with the repeated label image. The sign is an embossed lithographed with beautiful color and nice detail. It has an easel back for counter top display.
It is in very nice condition with minor wear. The edges are lightly worn and the lower left hand corner is slightly bent and flared. It measures about 11" by 9 1/4" at the widest portion.
