This is an older paperback reference book written by James L Dundas called Collecting Whistles. Although it is an older book it is still an invaluable reference for collectors of toy whistles. It deals with a wide variety including themed whistles like ones shaped as animals, guns, trains and airplanes and whistles made of tin, metal wood and plastic. There’s a patent list and a page on the proper way to clean a whistle. It has 160 pages full of colorful, glossy photos with descriptions and price references guide albeit from 1995 when it was copyrighted and published by Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. of Atglen, Pennsylvania. The original price was $19.95.
The book measures about 6” by 9” by ½”. It is in good condition with crisp and clean pages, minimal edge and corner wear and a tight spine. The cover is lightly scuffed and the front has a crease that runs most of the length. It looks like something has been whited out on the top of one page as shown in the photos.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
