This old train set consists of an engine, three cars including the caboose, a battery pack and 12 pieces of track. The engine has five different decals; Northern Pacific, Great Northern Railway, Chicago/Milwaukee/ St.Paul and Pacific; Union Pacific and New York Central System. The yellow, open box car has a decal for the B&O line. The oil tank car has a decal for the Santa Fe and the decal of the caboose is only partial but I think it’s for the Chicago and North Western System. The battery pack has a hinged door on one end and an on/off switch on the other end and it holds 2 “D” cell batteries. There should be wires going from the battery pack to clips that would attach to the track but the leads are missing. The track is plastic and metal. There are 10 pieces of curved track with two straight pieces so you can make a circle or an oval. The cars are marked with the “B” Sign of Quality, Bandai logo, and Made in Japan. I believe this is from the 1950’s - 1960’s.

The engine measures about 5 ¾” long by 1 3/8” wide by 2 1/8” high. The open box car measures about 6” long by 1 5/8” wide by 1 ½” high. The silver tanker measures about 5 7/8” long by 1 ½” wide by 2 1/8” high. The red caboose measures about 5 ¼” long by 1 ½” wide by 2 ¼” high at the center. The battery pack measures about 5 3/8” long by 1 ½” square. The curved pieces of track measure about 6 7/8” long excluding the connector pins and the straight pieces measure about 7 1/8” long. All of the cars are in very good condition with generally minimal wear but some of the decals show more wear than others. When tested with batteries and wire, the engine works but as stated the leads that should be attached to the battery box are missing so this train can’t be run on the tracks the way it is and it is being sold As-Is. Nonetheless, this attractive toy train displays nicely.
