This old covered dish was probably intended to hold a young girl’s rosary beads. The young lady with auburn hair has a sweet face and closed eyes. Her hands are pressed together in prayer. She is dressed in a white, slightly iridescent, collared dress. The front of the dress has a panel of net which is stiff like porcelain. The dress is also adorned with applied flowers and porcelain “spaghetti” fur. She appears to be wearing a small pill-box hat which is trimmed with gold. She is the lid to a small dish that reads; For My Daily Prayers. On the bottom is a stamped number; 3017 and the the remnants of an original, foiled paper label that probably read; Made in Japan. I would assume she is from the late 1950’s or 1960’s.
She measures about 5” tall by 2 ¾” wide and is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
