This small hammer is generally referred to as a tack hammer and is perfect for small jobs. The head has a round, flat face hammer on one end and the smaller end is also round but is magnetic for picking up tacks. The “claw” for removing small nails and tacks is more like a tapered slot down the center. The head has the Stanley - Made in U.S.A. logo and is attached to a hardwood handle, probably ash or hickory, and is secured with a metal wedge. It also has part of the original Stanley decal on the handle and the end of the handle is stamped with the number 602. The hammer weighs about 9.5 ounces. I believe this is from the 1940's.
It measures about 10 5/8” long and the head measures about 5 ½” across. It is in fairly good but used, original condition with a multitude of paint drips on the handle.
