This old tin is like an aspirin tin but it once contained Breethem. This breath freshener was advertised to Dignify the Breath – Sweet as a Baby’s. It was considered essential in social and business circles and recommended for singers, actors and radio announcers! It also aided in relieving sore throats and hoarseness. The hinged lid features a young women with soft wisps wafting from her lips. It has a 1931 copyright and was manufactured by the Breethem Co., a division of Plough, Inc.
The empty tin measures about 1 5/8” by 2 1/8” and is in nice condition with good gloss and minor scratch wear. There are faint vertical lines on both sides of the tin. I can’t figure out what might have caused them either in manufacturing, packaging or afterward.
