This old miniature lamp is made of a translucent satin glass with hand painted ornamentation which includes flowers, swags and tiny hearts. The brass burner screws off of the collar which is securely affixed to the base. A brass knob with a star in the center would be used for raising the wick. The lamp has a glass hurricane shade that fits into the holder. The shade is frosted on the lower half to defuse the light of the flame and the top edge of the shade is wavy and crimped. There is no evidence as to the maker of the lamp. This little size can be used as an accessory to a doll or dollhouse.
Overall it measures about 7 3/8” tall and the bottom of the base measures about 2 ¼” in diameter with is bulging out to about 2 ¾”. It is in very nice condition with minor wear and no damage. The is a little soiling to the glass and possibly dregs of fuel in the bottom of the inside. It does not come with a wick. There is minimal wear to the enamel paint work.
