This is an old paper or leatherette covered ring box with gold detailing around the edge of the slightly domed lid. The color is a rich reddish brown would make it an especially nice gift box for a man’s ring. It has a little brass button on the front to release the hinged lid. Inside is a black velvet-like cushion with a slot in which to display an antique ring. The slot is thicker than many, again suggesting that it was used for a gentleman’s ring or band. The fabric insert in the hinged lid has no advertising.
It measures about 1 ½” square by 1 3/8” high when closed. It is in nice condition with minor scuff and edge wear. The button releases well and snaps closed. The fabric is lightly frayed around the slot.
