This small plate bears the seal of the State University of New York along with its motto; To Learn To Search To Serve. SUNY as it is commonly referred to was established in 1948 by Governor Thomas E. Dewey in 1948, a date the is also part of the seal. The dish was probably used as a bread plate. It is a slightly rounded square in turquoise and white with the yellow and blue graphics. The back of the plate is marked Trend Syracuse China U.S.A. along with the date code 96-E which is from 1967.
It measures about 6” by 6 1/8” and it is in very good condition with minor scuff wear and no damage.
