This colorful old tin was for Droste's Cocoa which was made in Holland. The scene of a young Dutch couple enjoying a cup of hot chocolate is on opposing sides of the tin and reads; Droste Haarlem Holland. Another panel has what appears to be an elaborate coat of arms and the opposing side has gold medals received by the company at Hamburg in 1898 & Brussels in 1904. The removable lid is embossed with; Droste's Cocoa.
This is the 4oz size and measures about 4” high and 2 1/8” square. It is in very nice condition with good gloss and minor wear. One side has a slightly stippled texture which appears to be under the litho. The paint on the lid is dull and perhaps oxidized.
