This old book, Sewing for Special Occasions – Bridal, Prom and Evening Dresses was part of the Singer Sewing Reference Library. This book is a guide to creating unique gowns for the special occasions in your life. I focuses on the unique construction techniques of fine fashions like preferred seams, fancy back closures, proper hemming, boning and embellishing with lace and beading. It covers all aspects of creating a perfect gown. It also deals with fabric selection, making a test garment and choosing unique notions. There is also a section on headpieces, hats and bridal veils. It has 128 pages, including the index and it is full of color photos illustrations and written directions. It has a 1994 copyright by Cy DeCosse, Inc in cooperation with the Sewing Education Dept. of the Singer Sewing Company.
It measures about 8 ½” by 11 1/8” by ½” and is in good condition with minimal wear. The inner pages are crisp and clean and in the spine is tight. The cover is in good condition with minimal scuffs, edge and corner wear. This is a Withdrawn library book so there is library identification on the inside covers and spine edge.
