This old hardback book was written by Dr. Frances R. Horwich and Reinald Werrenrath Jr.. Before Romper Room, Sesame Street and Mister Rogers, Miss Frances entertained and educated children on television during the half hour show Ding Dong School. This book focuses on simple crafts for young hands and minds. A few of the activities include planting pumpkin seeds, having a doll party, finger painting and making simple musical instruments like a tom-tom and sand blocks. The vover of the hardbound book is charming with a little girl, surrounded by a teddy bears and playroom toys, blows a bubble from a pipe. The simplistic red, blue and black illustrations were were done by Katherine Evans. The book is comprised of 56 pages. It has a 1960 and 1953 copyright and was published by Golden Press, Inc. of New York.
It measures about 8 1/8” by 11 1/8” by 1/2" and is in basically good, lightly used condition. The linen cover good with a few worn corners and edges and a tight spine. The inside pages are basically clean with minor smudges. This was apparently a school library book with an identifying stamp on the two front pages as shown in the picures.
