This is an old First Edition cookbook filled with recipes with taste, nutrition and a budget wise cost. The recipes cover the gamut from appetizers, soups, sandwiches, side dishes, a variety of main courses and desserts. There are 127 pages including the index, cooking methods and meal plans. The recipes seem simply written. There are no illustrations. This has a 1935 copyright by The Best Foods, Inc., makers of Nucoa. It was written by Ida Bailey Allen, International Authority on Cooking and Nutrition. This recipe book has been “customized” with the addition of few handwritten recipes at the front and back and one magazine recipe that has been glued in.
It measures about 5 ¾” by 8 5/8” by almost 7/8” thick and is in fairly nice, usable condition. The inside pages are mostly crisp and clean with minor wear and light stains. The spine is loose at the back which can be seen in the photos. The hardcover has edge and corner wear and is lightly soiled and the spine edge is worn.
