This is an old pottery flower frog with a parrot like bird perched on a black base that has holes for the flower stems. The bird is painted in a dark burnt orange, yellow and green and has a high gloss glaze. The black base resembles a tree stump and there are six flower holes. On the bottom is an impressed marked that reads; Made in Japan. I believe it is probably from the 1930’s.
It measures about 6 1/8” tall and the base measures about 3 ¼” by 3 ¾”. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. There are some dull spots where the glaze did not cover but this is a manufacturing flaw and not damage.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
