This beautiful tile was done by the late artist, Leone Kuhne. She was internationally known for her works in a variety of medium. The art tile endeavor developed in the 1980’s and this one shows her ties to the American southwest. A beautiful Indian woman cuddles her baby in her decorative blanket. The tile is kiln fired and hand glazed and has rich colors and a since of serenity. It is signed L Kuhne on the front and on the back is the Earthtones label. The tile is mounted on a fiberboard backing with a small slot across the top so it can be hung on the wall. It could also be used as a trivet or placed on an easel as an artistic accent. I believe it is from the late 1980’s or 1990’s.
The tile portion measures just under 6” square is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. The label has been partially removed. It is my assumption that there was a price tag that someone removed to possibly give this as a gift.
Priced and sold as the pair.
