This old tin was never filled with syrup but instead it was made to be a coin bank as a promotional advertising piece. It is fashioned like the tin cabin tins that were so popular and this one has the frontier house scene on one side and the Towle’s Log Cabin Syrup name on the other. The top specifically reads; This Is Not a Food Container. The chimney is a removable lid that has a slot for dropping your money in. The end panels are plain and the bottom shows that it was; Made in Hong Kong. These were popular in the 1950’s and makes nice kitchen decorating piece.
It measures about 3 5/8” by 2 ½” by 4 1/8” high to the top of the chimney. It is in good condition with good gloss and minimal dent or scratch wear. The tin ends and lid have minor discoloration.
