This is an old instruction manual from an Erector set by The A.C. Gilbert Co. of New Haven Connecticut. The paper booklet is full of diagrams for the many projects that could have been made with a variety of Erector sets. The construction toy that boasted the Square Girder was popular for many decades. This book starts with a couple of pages of designs that could be made with the No. 1 ½ Set. It goes on to show models that could be made with sets; No. 1, No. 2 ½, and No. 3. Then there is a section using sets No.4, 4 ½, and 5 ½ and the standard gear box. Section five has models built with the No. 6 Erector and the last section shows examples from all of the previous sets plus some made using the No. 7, 8, 8 ½, 9 ½ & No. 10 ½. The last couple of pages are devoted to separate parts that could have been purchased. The back cover shows other toys that were made by the company. This has a 1934 copyright by The A.C. Gilbert Company.
The stapled booklet measures about 6 7/8” by 10 ¾” and in fairly nice condition with some edge and corner wear, light soiling, rust stains and water stains. Several of the pages have folded corners. It is complete and in tact and still a great reference piece or addition to an old Erector set.
