This old celluloid tape measure is of a little blue eyed baby with rosy checks sitting on a painted pink chamber pot. He isn't wearing a stitch of clothing and he looks a little perplexed with his finger in his mouth. It is very faintly stamped Japan on the bottom. The white cloth tape is marked in inches on both sides with 1/16" increments and is marked Japan.
It measures about 1 1/2" high and the base is about 1 1/8" in diameter. The paint and celluloid are in very good condition with minimal wear. There is a small dent on his right temple and there is a crude spot on his left elbow at the seam. This is typically called a blowhole and is done in the manufacturing. There are some cracks around the opening for the tape. The tape pulls out and retracts well and is in good condition with light fraying along the edges.
