This is a beautifully detailed, old medal which is probably made of bronze. The front shows a soldier in period uniform with his rifle with bayonet. It reads; Dept of Idaho - Boise 1935. There is a small Seal of Idaho on one side and the American Legion Auxiliary logo on the other. On the back it reads; Made in U.S.A. Greenduck Co. Chi and two tiny logos. The medal is hung from its original blue ribbon with a pin at the top which could have held a name card. The back of the card holder reads; Greenduck Co. Chicago and there is a simple c-closure pin. The ribbon reads; 16th Annual Convention - Dept. of Idaho American Legion Auxiliary - Boise Aug 18-21. The entire piece comes on its original card that again has the Green Duck Co. name and the information; World’s Foremost Manufactures of Badges, Advertising Buttons, Metal Advertising Novelties, Emblems.
The medal itself measures about 1 9/16” in length and 1 5/8” across the widest part. Overall it measures about 4” long and the card it comes on measures about 2 ¼” by 5 7/16”. Overall it is in very nice condition with minimal wear to the medal or the ribbon, however the ribbon is faded on the front. The card shows creases and edge wear. .
