This old celluloid bunny rabbit is probably a child’s clothes. The bunny is stamped and the front and back are pressed together along the edges. She is nicely detailed and has large, upright ears. It looks like the she is wearing an apron that has a little applied pocket and suspender type straps. The celluloid is a dark, creamy yellow which has pink highlights to bring out the detail. The collar is painted green and the facial features and fingernails are painted turquoise. Inserted into the bunny handle are stiff brush bristles which would work well to brush crumbs from a baby’s bib. I see no maker's marks or country of origin. I believe this is from the 1930's - 1940's.
The rabbit portion measure about 2 ¼” high by 1 ¼” wide and the overall length is about 4 5/8”. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage. There is less pink on the front but that is probably because the front of the apron is smooth and the back which has “fur” is textured to hold the color better.
