This fat gold pig is an old bank made of cast iron. He is not marked but I believe the bank was made by the A.C.Williams company of Ohio. The hog is painted gold and is nicely detailed with wrinkles and all. He’s sitting on his rear haunches and he appears to be smiling probably because of the red paint on his mouth. The coin slot runs down the seam on his back and opens by the screw on his right side. I believe this vintage figural still bank was made in the 1920’s or 1930’s.
It measures about 2 7/8” to the top of the pig’s ears and about 4 ½” from snout to curled tail. The coin slot measures about 1” long. The original paint is in good condition with light scuff and scratch wear and small patches of dark discoloration. The screw appears to be original. There are no cracks or breaks in the cast iron.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
