This old shoe horn was from the Bellas Hess catalog store. It is made of tin with the following information stamped into it; A Break at the Back of Any Low Shoe is Avoided by Use of This Shoe Horn - Bellas Hess & Co. - New York City, N.Y.. It appears this company started in business in the early 1900’s and like Sears and Montgomery Ward, had a tremendous catalog business of general merchandise. The back of the shoe horn, which has a slightly unusual shape, reads; Summer’s - Pat. 12-16-13 (1913).

It measures about 3 ¾” in length and about 1 ½” at the widest point. It is in fairly nice condition with some wear, almost like someone hammered on it. It also has some pitting.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
