This is an old cup and saucer set with a hand painted scene. The white porcelain is very thin. The scene on the cup has the windmill on one side with a sky of yellows and orange. A blue band of water covers ¾ of the way around the cup with a fading green below that. The saucer mirrors the cup except it doesn’t have the windmill. The handle is painted black and both pieces have thin black line on the edge. The saucer is stamped; Japan.
The cup measures about 3 5/8” in diameter excluding the handle and 2 3/16” high and the saucer measures about 5 ¼” in diameter. Both are in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. The saucer has a bit of roughness along the edge but it appears to have been up against something when it was fired so it is a manufacturing flaw.
