This is an old Quick & Easy ice cream disher manufactured by the Erie Specialty Co. of Erie Pennsylvania in the early 1900’s. It appears to be made of nickeled brass and bronze with a wood handle. The bowl is a size 16 (sixteen scoops to the quart) which is marked on the blade inside the bowl. The wiper blade is also marked; Pat. 1908 Q & E Specialty Co. Erie, PA.
It measures about 10” in length and the bowl measures about 2 ¼” in diameter. This scoop was a user! It is in useable condition with obvious usage wear. The wiper mechanism works well and the bowl is generally dent free. The shaft has a good deal of scarring from being rapped against the metal rim of an ice cream carton or counter. There are also a few nicks on the rim of the bowl. There is a loss of nickel so there are places on the shaft where the base metal shows through which can be seen in the photos. The ferrule is copper and appears to have been polished. The handle is in good condition with no splits. Over all it’s a useable old scoop in original condition.
