Vintage Nippon Salt Dip - Individual Old Salt Cellar - Hand PaintedVintage Nippon Salt Dip - Individual Old Salt Cellar - Hand PaintedVintage Nippon Salt Dip - Individual Old Salt Cellar - Hand PaintedVintage Nippon Salt Dip - Individual Old Salt Cellar - Hand Painted

This old salt dip is considered an individual as opposed to a master salt. Each person at the table would have his own little dish of salt accompanied by a little salt spoon often made of porcelain or sterling silver. This pretty, little footed dish is made of white porcelain decorated with a hand painted scene. It has an abstract horizon with colorful leaves in the foreground and what appears to be perhaps a lychee. The little feet have a decorative applied paint design. On the bottom is the green wreath, Hand Painted Nippon mark.

It measures about 2 1/2” in diameter and about 1” high and is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
