This old wall hanging may have been an advertising piece except the name of the shoe company is not evident. The studio photo pictures a very cute little boy He has blonde hair which appears to be rather long and mussed and an adorable face with a bit of a pout. He’s wearing an outfit that has the appearance of being a uniform with a dark coat, broad hat and high top button spats over his shoes. He’s standing back to back with a rubber shoe that exceeds his height. There is a name on the front of the boot that appears to be in a half circle but do to the angle it is impossible to make out the name. At the bottom of the photo it reads simple “Rubber”. It has a 1910 copyright by Roth & Langley of New York. The photo is mounted to a piece of paper and then a piece of cardboard so it appears to be matted. The original glass is over the photo which was all held together by a paper “frame” that was glued to the glass and then around to the back side. The original string hanger on the back.
Overall it measures about 8” by 10” and the phot page measures about 5 5/8” by 7 3/8”. and is in good condition with minor wear. The glass is intact with no damage. Unfortunately the paper tape that was originally holding all of the pieces together has become brittle and the pieces are now separated so it cannot be hung on the wall without reframing or some other modification.
