This small menu is from the American President Lines S.S. President Harrison and it is dated Sunday, June 30, 1940. The cover of the menu pictures a cornucopia showing off the bounties of California. In the background is one of the California missions and a palm tree silhouette. The inside answers the question, what’s for dinner with entrees such as Boiled Brisket of Beef, Roast Tom Turkey and Grilled Sirloin Steak. After the list of desserts it states “Demi Tasse Served in the Smoking Room”. H.J. Ehman, U.S.N.R. was the commander and D.S. Cullen was the chief steward for the journey. On the bottom edge of the back it says that envelopes for mailing could be obtained through the purser. This is a wonderful souvenir of the cruise ship as well as being a menu.
It measures about 6” by 8 5/8” in its closed state and is in fairly nice condition with minor edge wear and some light stains and soiling.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
