This tiny little girl is an old celluloid roly poly toy. This figure is known as the Munich Child or Muncner Kindl. She’s dressed in a black coat with a cowl. In one hand is a beer mug which appears to have the initials HB. In the other hand are bier radishes that some refer to as turnips. Although the hooded child is quite tiny she has a nicely detailed sweet face. She sits on a round weighted base which allows her to wobble back and forth when touched. I can’t say for certain but I think that Germany is molded into the back but it is very weak at best. Even if it isn’t marked I believe it was made in Germany in the 1920’s.
She measures only1 ½” tall and is in very nice condition with no damage to the celluloid. The paint is weak in a couple of places and sloppy in other places. The weight is apparently not centered as she lists to the right.
