This small pottery bowl was made by Bennington Potters, a company that has been in business in Vermont for more than sixty years. The bowl is a slightly irregular round shape with a stepped down taper and two extending handles. The glaze is a very pleasing muted blue green. The bottom has a raised, six petaled burst which an inspirational spark. There is also an incised design number, 1765 and the company logo with Bennington Potters VT. I believe these are early marks of the company dating this to the late 1950's or early 1960's.
It measures between 4 3/8” and 4 1/2” in diameter, excluding the handles and just over 2 ¼” high at the bowl. It is in good condition with some chips to the inside rim of the bottom edge. There is a small piece of fired clay on the center burst which causes the bowl to not sit flat.
