This is a nice set of sterling salt and pepper shakers. They have a simple shape with a chased design all the way around the body with a more decorative design on two sides. They have push on lids with larger hoe in one and smaller holes in the other. On the bottom they are marked; Sterling Weighted along with the trademark for Clarence A. Vanderbilt of New York. The manufacturer was in business from 1909 to 1935. These also have the number 1700 which is probably the pattern number.
They measure about 4 3/16” tall. The bases measure about 1 ½” in diameter and the body measures about 1 3/8” at the widest. They are in fairly good but used condition with light wear. There are small dents to the body and the lids. The lids fit snuggly. There is some discoloration which is shown in the close-up photo.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
