This wonderful old top was quite fashionable in its day and is still a show stopper. The sleeveless shell has a rolled collar that I believe would be considered a cowl neck. The lightweight knit is covered with clear sequins that has an iridescence that is generally referred to as an aurora borealis finish. It is further enhanced with varying lengths of small, glass bead strands that have a loop at the bottom. The green strands have green strands randomly placed, each with an irregular, simulated pearl bead in the center. The back has a full length, metal zipper that allows the blouse to be slipped on easily and it has bust darts so it hangs beautifully. The sequins are on the face of the collar with a few rows flowing over to the inside which would lie toward the neck. There is a hook and eye at the top of the zipper and there are two hook and eye closures on the collar. The inside is lined with what appears to be a thin, satin like material. The original label inside reads; Hand-Beaded in Hong Kong - 100% Wool - RN 38812 and there is a size label marked “M”.

As mentioned, this is marked as a medium. Lying flat it measures about 17 ½” across the bust (about 1 2/2” below the arm holes). It measures about 16” across at the waist and about 17 ½” at the bottom which would be about the hips. It measures about 20 ½” long from the top of the collar to the bottom hem. It measures about 9 ½” across the top edge of the collar.

It is in nice but used condition with light wear. There are sequins missing at the top edge of the neck. I would imagine the sequins weren’t very comfortable against the neck, however, since there are several rows of sequins on the inside edge of the collar and they could be used, if one were so inclined, to fill in the blank areas. There are also, undoubtedly, a few other missing sequins or beads which I have not seen but in general it shows quite nicely. There are a few tiny holes in the wool, primarily on the neck such as I’ve shown in the photos. There are also a few light underarm stains on the lining. I have not had this cleaned. It is being sold honestly but as is.
