This is an old apron that is decorated with applique and embroidery. The white, linen like fabric apron has a red and white ruffled edge. Applied to front is the image of a mammy wearing a neckerchief and bandana made of the same fabric as the ruffle. She has a happy, smiling face and bright blue eyes. She has embroidered details and is hand stitched to the apron. The flaps on the kerchief and bandana are not sewn down. It has a sewn on waistband with attached ties.
It measures about 19” across the top from ruffle edge to ruffle edge. The waistband measures about 14 ¼” across and each tie measures about 27” long so the total width from end to end is about 69” It measures about 17” in length. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear and light wrinkling.
