This is an old piece made by A.H. Heisey & Company of Newark, Ohio. The pattern is similar to a Colonial pattern but in some ways is more decorative. The design patent was applied for by Andrew J Sanford, assignor to the Heisey company, in 1915. The patent, 48,612 was issued in 1916. In the center is the diamond H trademark and it reads; Pat. 2/22/16. I don’t know that this design was ever given a name or used for any other styled pieces. It would make an attractive candy or relish dish.
It measures just over 6 5/8” by 5 5/8”. The sides flare up slightly on the ends so it measures about 1 5/8” high in the center and about 2 ¼” high at the ends. It is in good condition with minimal wear but there is a small nick on the outside that I have shown in the close-up photos.
