This old paper card is called a trade card and this one is advertising an establishment called Moffitt’s. On the front is picture of a small child carrying a platter with a turkey. A goose is tugging on the boy’s knickers which is causing an obvious distraction so the platter is tilting, the juices are spilling off the tray and the cat is taking advantage of the whole situation. On the back side it reads; Moffitt’s - Dining - Saloon….Open for Regular Boarders….Meals at All Hours….No.233 Merrimack Street - Wheeler’s Block. My assumption is that this is from the late 1800’s or early 1900’s.
It’s printed on lightweight cardboard and measures about 2 13/16” by 3 7/8”. It is in nice condition with light edge and corner wear and minor soiling.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
