This simple sterling silver piece is an old cream or sauce ladle as opposed to the larger gravy ladle. According to the Maryanne Dolan American Sterling Silver Flatware identification guide this is the Lincoln pattern which was introduced in 1905 by the Frank W. Smith Silver Co. of Massachusetts. It has simple detail in a classic style. The back is marked with the Frank Smith logo of an S interwoven in a crescent moon and a lion. It is also marked Sterling. This piece is monogrammed with the initial “M”.
It measures about 4 5/8” long and the bowl measures about 1 7/8” wide. It is in very good condition with minimal wear. As previous stated it is monogrammed on the front of the handle.
