This old German made candy container is a spry spring chicken ready to celebrate Easter. He has a molded cardboard body with a fuzzy flocked texture. His head is attached to a large spring allowing it to nod about. His single tail feather is attached to a smaller spring so it bobs about also. He has blown glass eyes and he’s wearing a molded, green felt hat. A big ribbon bow is affixed to the base of his neck. The body opens in the middle so it could be filled with Easter sweets or little trinkets. The inside is lined with a patterned paper which is also on the bottom of the molded feet. The bottom is stamped; Made (in) Western Germany.
It measures about 7 ¾” high and the body measures about 4 ¼” long. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear and soiling. A little bit of the flocking is worn off of the tips of the beak and off the back edge of the base.
