This old hand painted porcelain plate is a fun souvenir from the tourist hot spot of San Francisco - Chinatown. Across the top with a background of a bonsai tree it reads; Good Health. There is a Chinese character that I believe represents the sentiment. The plate also includes a recipe for Mandarin Chop Suey and Shrimp Fried Rice. Below the recipes it reads; Famous Recipes from Chinatown San Francisco. There is also an illustration showing “How to Use Chop Sticks”. The outer edge of the decorative edge is trimmed with gold. The back is pierced so it can be hung and it presently has a colored string through the holes which may or may not be original. I believe this is from the 1960’s.
It measures about 8 ¼” in diameter and is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
