This old shirt was probably marketed as a man’s shirt but could be worn by either gender. The fabric is a 70% silk and 30% cotton blend. The background is off white, slightly cream with a hint of green and it has a woven plain design. The pattern looks like orchids with frond foliage in shades of greens and gray. It has a loose collar, a left breast pocket and short sleeves. There are six buttons up the front plus a loop and button at the collar. The buttons are textured plastic with the look of bamboo. There is one extra button sewn to the side seam. The original labels identify this as a Large - Knightsbridge shirt – Made in China. The washing instructions are on the back of the label as shown in the photos. I believe this is from the 1990’s.
As mentioned this is marked as a large but note the actual measurements since sizes vary. Lying flat it measures about 22” across the upper back, seam to seam and about 26” under the arms, seam to seam (52” chest). The sleeves measure about 10 ½” from shoulder seam to finished edge. It measures about 30” from the bottom of the collar at the back to the finished hem.
It is in nice but used condition with light wear and no noted damage or major flaws. It has been washed by hand and hung to dry but it has not been ironed.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
