This old advertising piece for the Smith Wallace Shoe Co. was considered a tip tray. In the center of the small metal tray is a portrait of a beautiful young woman with dark wispy hair held back by a purple bow. Her rosy complexion and blue eyes make for an attractive tray but have little to do with subject of the advertising. On either side of the central image are shield logos for the Smith Wallace Shoe Company whose name is also written just below the image on the flared edge. There is also a gold band along the lower edge which reads; E.H. Lingo - LaRue, Ohio.
It measures about 4 1/4" in diameter and is in nice condition with minor wear. The main image is in fairly good condition but has quite a bit of fine crazing which can be seen when held at the right angle. The last couple of pictures are an attempt to show the crazing. The outer edge also has crazing and minor wear. The painted black back is pretty worn and blotchy.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
