This is an old service pin issued by the Boys’ Club of America. The top portion has a pin back and on the front it reads; Twenty Five years. A piece of maroon ribbon is attached to the back of the pin and small pieces of chain hang from the bottom of the pin. Attached to the chain is a round medallion. In the center is the old symbol for the Boy’s Club with a keystone and a torch. Around the emblem it reads; Boys’ Clubs of America and across the top it reads; Meritorious Service. A laurel garland is on the lower half. Engraved on the back is the apparent recipient of this piece; C.W. Marwedel Feb. 5-1947. (I do not know if this is the same C.W. Marwedel that had a fine tool business in San Francisco or not).
The metal pieces are a dark bronze color and the metal in nonmagnetic. The back has the logo and name of the prestigious jewelers Dieges & Clust.
The pin measures about 1 ¼” wide and the medallion is about 1 ¼” in diameter. Overall it hangs about 2 3/8” long to the tips of the ribbon. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
