Vintage Masonic Lapel Pin - Old Freemasonry Emblem - Beautiful Detail
This old lapel pin is a nice example of a Masonic piece. It is a nicely detailed design with the square, compass and letter “G” which represents Freemasonry. At the top of the compass is a stone in a bezel setting. The back has a threaded post which goes through the lapel slot and accepts the keeper that secures it to the fabric. The keeper is marked The Victory and has a 1900 patent date. It is unmarked with gold content so it is assumed to be rolled gold or gold plated. The stone has a lot of sparkle and is not foil backed but has not been checked to see if it is a diamond and it is therefore assumed that it is not.
It measures about 11/16” in length and is in very nice original condition with minimal wear and no signs of base metal showing through. The tip of one leg of the compass is bent.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
