This old book was written by Marguerite Vance, author of historical fiction, biographies and children’s books. This is a story of a young boy who has lost his father and is learning to accept new things in his life including new neighbors that may be a bit strange having a chained Cheetah of all things. It touches on relevant issues that face many young people today just as it did in 1960 when this book was written. It has 113 pages in a hardbound linen cover with the original dust jacket. This is a First Edition with a 1960 copyright by the author. This Weekly Reader Children’s Book Club edition was illustrated by Robert MacLean and published by E.P.Dutton & Co. of New York.
It measures about 5 5/8” by 8 ¼” by ½” and is in very nice condition with minimal wear. The inside pages are crisp and clean and the spine is tight. The cover shows minimal wear due to the protection of the dust jacket. The dust jacket is nice but it does have some tears and soiling.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
