This old picture locket is round with an etched starburst design that is set with a tiny stone. It is assumed to be either rolled gold or gold plated and the back is plain. In the middle of the eight-point burst is a tiny faceted stone which is very dark in color. I assume it is paste or a rhinestone. The locket is hinged at the bottom with an attached loop at the top holding a jump ring. Inside are two photos. They both have a thin piece of protective plastic and are being held in with keeper rings. Along one edge it is stamped F.H.S. Co. Pat.. I believe this is from the early part of the 1900’s.
It measures about 15/16” in diameter excluding the attached loop and is in very nice condition with minor wear. There is minor scuff and scratch wear and there is almost no sign of base metal showing through. The hinge and latch are tight. The plastic over the phots is scratched and possibly split.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
