This old doll is a Madame Alexander from the Friends from Foreign Lands, International series. I believe she is referred to as #593. She has a sweet face known with beautiful, brown sleep eyes and blushed cheeks. She is made of plastic with jointed arms and straight legs and a swivel head. Her rooted brunette hair is pulled back in a low ponytail of tight curls. She’s wearing her original dress with a white bodice and red skirt with a brocade ribbon panel separating the two across the front. She also has a green half apron which is tied in a bow at the back. She also has her original straw hat with a small bouquet of flowers and a gold ribbon. Her original under garments include stockings, pantaloons and a lace edged slip and she still has her black slip-on shoes. Sewn to her dress is the original tag that reads; Italy by Madame Alexander - New York, U.S.A.. Her back is marked “Alexander”. I believe she is from the 1980’s. No Box.
She measures 8” tall to the top of the hat and is in very good condition with minimal wear. There is a tiny dark spot on her left cheek. Her stringing is good and her sleep eyes work properly. The clothes are crisp and clean.
She comes with a Madame Alexander booklet (1984 copyright) that features the “Little Women” on the front, Storyland Dolls toward the back and The International Dolls throughout the middle. The booklet measures about 2 5/8” by 2 ¼” and it is in very nice condition with minimal wear.
