This is a small but adorable, hand painted porcelain half doll for a pincushion. The young girl is in a seated position with her ankles politely crossed. She is wearing a Pierrot inspired costume and she’s holding a mask in one had. Her white dress with ruffled skirt is trimmed in black with red polka-dots. Atop her light brown bobbed hair is a clown or dunce cap which matches the dress. She has a simple face with lightly blushed cheeks. On the bottom it is simply stamped with a number but under the skirt on top of the base that would be sewn to a pin cushion it is incised; Germany. I believe she is from the early 1900’s.
She measures about 2 1/8” tall and about 2 ½” from toe tip to the back of her skirt and the base measures about 1 ½” in diameter. She is very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
