This old hand painted porcelain half doll is quite charming. The young lady has a coquettish smile and side glancing eyes. She’s wearing a rusty orange, cloche type hat with a pale blue plume that shows off her light brown curls. She’s holding a fan in her right hand and her left hand is resting lightly on her breast which is partially revealed by the daring, plunged neckline of her white bodice. The blouse also features a high, slightly ruffled collar and ruffled, ¾-length sleeves. On the flared base, that would be sewn to a pincushion, it is incised with; Germany.
It measures about 3” tall and about 2 ¾” wide across at her elbow and the fan and the base measures about 1 1/8” in diameter. She is very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage. There is a glaze flaw on the front at the bottom of the bodice which I have shown in the photo. This appears to be a firing flaw and not damage.
