This fun packet of old sewing needles is called The Weekend Needle Case. The side with the name has a nice lake scene with a vintage car tucked into the trees and a row boat out on the lake. The other side has a seaside scene with sailboats on the horizon, people walking through the surf and lounging in the sand and visiting from a railing. Across the bottom edge it reads; Printed in U.S.A.. Inside are red foil pieces which hold the needles. In the middle it reads; 59 German Made – All Nickel Plated – Rustproof Needles – Large Improved Eyes. I believe this is from the late 1930’s.
The closed book measures about 6 ¼” by 3 ¾”. It is in nice condition with light edge wear, creases and a couple of small tears. It has only a few of the needles and it is missing the needle threader and the foil it was on.
